Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse position in a high-volume ER setting. The role involves providing acute emergency care to diverse patient populations, managing complex clinical situations, and adhering to facility protocols, including sterile procedures and dysrhythmia assessments. The position requires capacity to manage multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment, with shifts scheduled during daytime hours.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS certifications, BLS certification, minimum two years ER experience, Cerner experience preferred, and ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts. Additional qualifications include experience managing trauma, chest pain, stroke, geriatrics, high-acuity patients, and proficient use of emergency medical equipment.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner electronic medical records, familiarity with ER triage, and managing diverse ER patient diagnoses.
• Additional Information: Clinicians must complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, demonstrating sterile technique competency. ER staff manage their own holds, with staffing support sometimes assisting. The unit includes a seclusion room, central monitoring for beds and halls, adjacent radiology, and ED tech support for IV starts and blood draws. Floating to other campuses may be required, with flexibility for block schedule rotations. On-call duties include two 12-hour shifts every four weeks, with weekend and holiday rotations.
