Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift ER RN for a 16-week assignment at a Level II Trauma Center requiring CA RN licensure and 2+ years of ER experience.

Details

  • Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department setting
  • Level II Trauma Center at a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
  • Every other weekend required (Sunday not counted as a weekend), with possible additional weekends depending on unit needs
  • Floating may be required based on facility needs
  • Meditech charting system experience preferred but not required

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, MAB (or CPI), NIHSS, and PALS
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Skilled in trauma care including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and multisystem organ dysfunction management
  • Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
  • Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, and blood product administration
  • Skilled in airway and respiratory management including intubation, ventilator care, and BiPAP/CPAP
  • Experienced in neurological trauma care including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury management
  • Skilled in psychiatric emergency care including management of violent behavior and suicidal patients
  • Experienced in pediatric and adult emergency conditions including asthma, seizures, and abdominal pain
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE use, and triage protocols

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions in a high-acuity trauma setting
  • Perform triage, emergency medication administration, and procedural sedation as needed
  • Collaborate with the ER team to manage complex trauma, cardiac, and neurological cases
  • Travel pairs and 48-hour contracts are not accepted for this assignment
  • All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
  • Holiday time off and extended time off requests are unlikely to be approved
  • Former employees of the facility must have been separated for at least 365 days before returning as a traveler
  • Full commitment to the assignment is required; cancellations may result in disqualification from future opportunities
