Job Summary: Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Phoenix, Arizona
An Emergency Room (ER) Nurse provides direct patient care in a high-acuity setting, supporting trauma, burns, and pediatric patients requiring emergency evaluation and treatment. This role requires maintaining clinical competency across required assessment and procedural skills, including completion of required simulation training components. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts (12 hours); minimum 36 hours per week; 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, with holidays based on unit coverage.
- Required Qualifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; emergency room experience (minimum 2 years); active nursing license is required at submission and the organization is willing to wait for the license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification; Advanced Trauma/Child Trauma Nurse Course (ATCN) certification; Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
- Responsibilities: Provide emergency care for trauma, burns, and pediatric patients transferred out; complete required skills training components during onboarding, including simulation training for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (with stated exceptions based on unit); follow infection prevention and sterile field practices during skills training and required competencies; support care needs that may include educational sessions related to lifts, restraints, and wound care.
- Certifications: Candidates must be prepared to complete a pass/fail Day 1 skills/testing process during orientation.
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
