Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position in Renton, Washington. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care in a Level III trauma center with a diverse patient population. Candidates will be responsible for managing a variety of acute cases, including STEMI, stroke, trauma, respiratory diseases, and behavioral health, while adhering to established clinical protocols and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC). Must have at least 2 years of ER experience, including 1 year in a trauma center, with prior travel experience. Must hold a valid license and be willing to wait for license submission.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic health record system, managing various respiratory equipment such as vents, Cpap, BiPap, and high-flow oxygen devices, and managing ECGs.
  • Other Conditions: There is a separate triage area with orientation and competency testing required. ER staff manage their own long holds; security is in place 24/7, and there are dedicated psych/seclusion rooms monitored continuously.
  • Responsibilities: Providing culturally competent care in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple patient types including critical cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and transporting critical patients within the ER setting.
  • Additional Information: The unit serves over 600,000 patients, operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 in main ED, and features a separate triage area and holding rooms. Staff dress in royal blue scrubs and undergo unit-specific orientation.
