Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-volume Emergency Center position requiring TNCC certification and MEDITECH experience.

Details

• Acute care Emergency Center setting seeing approximately 180-200 visits per day
• Patient population spans pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, CVA, neuro, and ortho cases
• Facility is a CVA center and keeps some trauma and ortho cases onsite while others are transferred out
• 6-bed behavioral/psych lockdown area staffed by psych team
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 to 4
• Charge nurse present on shifts
• 5-6 nurse aides/paramedics per shift
• Security and safety sitters available, holding patients in main ER until admitted
• Central monitoring tech for tele/monitor patients
• Ventilator patients held in ER until admitted, managed by 24/7 dedicated respiratory therapist
• 24/7 pharmacy support, in-department 11 hours per day
• Nurses perform own lab draws and start their own IVs
• Uses MEDITECH 6.15 EMR
• Evening shift schedule, 3p-3a, 12-hour shifts
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA state or compact) currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS or ASLS, plus CPI
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, though 5+ years and at least 1 prior travel assignment preferred
• MEDITECH charting experience required
• BSN not required for this position
• Driver's license address must match submission for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of patient acuities and diagnoses
• Complete ORT (orientation) requirements within the first week of assignment, with no rollover unless approved by EC leadership
• Scrub color requirement: Caribbean Blue
• ED staffed with dedicated MD/DO and NP/PA coverage across multiple overlapping shifts throughout the day and night
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for placement
• Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the health system within the last 12 months
