Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) nurse opportunity in a Level 1 Trauma Center located in a suburban area. The role involves providing acute care to a diverse patient population, including neonates to geriatrics, in a fast-paced environment with a high acuity patient load. The schedule is primarily 12-hour evening shifts, with a cycle created for six weeks of self-scheduling.

• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours

• End Date: 11/28/2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC certifications; minimum of 2 years recent emergency department experience; ability to perform IV starts, assist with chest tube insertion, medication titration (pressors, insulin, sedation), trauma and stroke patient care including TPA administration, US-guided IV experience preferred; EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.
• Skills: Experience with trauma and stroke care, including TPA administration; proficiency in challenging IV placements and medication management; ability to assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion.
• Support on the Unit: ED Techs (5-7 during the day, 3 overnight), rare charge nurse overnight, phlebotomy available for labs, task RN assisting with break relief, alert RN for critical patients, ED Physician and mid-level provider coverage 24/7, hospitalists available 24/7, centralized bedside and monitoring technology.
• Technology/Equipment: EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pxy medication dispensing, Ranger transfusion equipment.
• Other: Orientation includes initial orientation with educator and preceptor; no on-call requirement; no weekend rotation indicated; no holidays unless approved for time off; scrub color navy blue; free parking provided.
