Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position available in a busy emergency department located in a high-volume healthcare facility. The role involves providing comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient population across a wide range of clinical diagnoses, including trauma, Stroke, Sepsis, respiratory issues, and behavioral health. The position requires adaptability to a rotating shift schedule and adherence to established protocols and certifications.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts with 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as an ER nurse, minimum of 2 years of ER experience, at least 1 year of trauma experience, proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system, and current certifications including ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, ENPC, PALS, and TNCC.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in high-acuity emergency departments and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • The ER is a Level 3 trauma center with 55 beds, including trauma bays and swing beds.
  • The department has a dedicated triage area, separate holding areas, and psych/seclusion rooms with 24/7 monitoring.
  • Patient ratios are 4:1 for main ER, 5:1 for accelerated care, and 2:1 for critical care.
  • Team includes ER physicians/mid-level providers, charge nurses, nurse aids, paramedics, and ED techs.
  • RNs are responsible for transporting critical patients and performing ECGs.
  • The unit is equipped with ventilation devices such as Vents, Cpap, BiPap, and High Flow systems, managed by RNs and RTs.
  • Shift scheduling involves variable daytime and nighttime hours across the week, including every other weekend and holidays.
  • Orientation includes a first-day badge/in-service and 2-3 shifts of bedside orientation with ED leadership.
