Job Summary: Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a trauma center setting. This role involves providing acute patient care in a high-volume emergency department, managing a variety of critical and non-critical cases, and working collaboratively with physicians and mid-level providers. The position requires adherence to hospital protocols, robust clinical skills, and the ability to respond effectively in fast-paced situations.
Job Details:
Shift Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), TNCC, NIHSS, PALS; 2 years of ER experience.
Preferred Qualifications: ENPC and NRP certifications are a bonus.
Float: Float rotation may be required to the pediatric emergency department.
Additional Information:
Equipment used includes vents, Cpap, BiPap, and high flow heated devices.
The unit manages its own ER holds and has two triage bays.
Typical patient load ranges from 70 to 85 patients per day, including adults and pediatrics.
ERs do not have separate psych/seclusion rooms, but in-house security is available.
ED team includes Nurse Aids, Paramedics, Patient Sitters, and ED Techs.
Electronic Medical Record system used is MEDITECH.
Transportation duties are shared with radiology staff; nurses perform nurse draws for most orders.
No call or standby requirements.
