Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Alexandria, Louisiana. This position involves providing high-acuity clinical care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The nurse will manage a variety of complex cases including strokes, cardiovascular emergencies, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis, with occasional trauma cases. The role requires independent practice and clinical decision-making skills in a high-pressure environment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Alexandria, LA
  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications:
    • RN License in the state of Louisiana or valid compact license
    • De-Escalation certification from AHA or equivalent
    • BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
    • ACLS certification from AHA or equivalent
    • PALS certification from AHA or equivalent
    • NCC certification preferred
    • One year of experience in emergency nursing or a related specialty preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience managing high-acuity patients in an emergency setting
    • Additional certifications such as TNCC, ENPC, or NRP are advantageous
  • Responsibilities:
    • Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care
    • Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitor for side effects and effectiveness
    • Document patient history, symptoms, medication administration, and care provided
    • Educate patients and families about care plans and treatment options
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to meet patient needs
  • Additional Information:
    • This facility has security onsite 24/7
    • No floating responsibilities are required for this role
    • Every other weekend work is expected
    • No on-call duties are required
    • The position may be temp-to-perm based on performance and organizational needs
