Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Alexandria, Louisiana. This position involves providing high-acuity clinical care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The nurse will manage a variety of complex cases including strokes, cardiovascular emergencies, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis, with occasional trauma cases. The role requires independent practice and clinical decision-making skills in a high-pressure environment.
Job Details:
- Location: Alexandria, LA
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- RN License in the state of Louisiana or valid compact license
- De-Escalation certification from AHA or equivalent
- BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- ACLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- PALS certification from AHA or equivalent
- NCC certification preferred
- One year of experience in emergency nursing or a related specialty preferred
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing high-acuity patients in an emergency setting
- Additional certifications such as TNCC, ENPC, or NRP are advantageous
- Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care
- Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitor for side effects and effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication administration, and care provided
- Educate patients and families about care plans and treatment options
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to meet patient needs
- Additional Information:
- This facility has security onsite 24/7
- No floating responsibilities are required for this role
- Every other weekend work is expected
- No on-call duties are required
- The position may be temp-to-perm based on performance and organizational needs
