Job Summary: Emergency Room (ER) Nurse located in a high-acuity, Level 1 trauma department. This role involves caring for a diverse patient population ranging from newborns to the elderly with a wide variety of complaints, including critically ill patients and trauma cases. The position requires managing critical patients, performing titration of drips, and working within a fast-paced environment supporting a team of physicians and mid-level providers.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with start times varying between 7 p.m.
Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that application has been initiated, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or TNS (Trauma Nurse Specialist), a minimum of 2 years of related nursing experience, at least one prior travel assignment preferred, proficient in vasopressor and cardiac drip titration, and SANE RN experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a teaching hospital, familiarity with Phillips monitor systems, and working with critically ill or trauma patients.
Float: Float rotation may be required to assist other units as needed, though it is infrequent.
Additional Information: The candidate must adhere to the department's call-off policy, be able to interpret rhythms and troubleshoot equipment including vents and high-flow systems, and work in a busy emergency department with multidisciplinary staff members.
