Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a Level 2 trauma center located in the healthcare facility. This position involves providing urgent and critical care to adult and pediatric patients, with a focus on trauma and emergency medical situations. The role requires adaptability to a fast-paced environment and adherence to established protocols for patient safety and care quality.

Job Details:

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and NIHSS.
• Education Requirements: None specified.
• Location Requirements: None specified.
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years required in Emergency Department (ER) settings.
• Schedule: 12-hour evening shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Priority clinical responsibilities include managing patients with minor to critical conditions, trauma care, and stroke protocols; bedside lab draws; and interpreting own electrocardiograms (EKGs).
• The unit features a fast-track area with 5 beds, trauma bays, and a high patient volume with an estimated 55,000 visits annually.
• Candidate will need to complete trauma module training spanning one day with a supervisor and two days with a preceptor.
• The facility is a STEMI and CVA receiving center, serving a diverse, low socioeconomic population with prevalent substance abuse cases.
• All candidates must be available to work two of the three major holidays and pass a unit-specific orientation program.
• Charting is performed using the Cerner electronic medical record system.
• No floating to other departments is required.
