Job Details
Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience; BSN degree; prior travel experience within the last 12 months
Preferred Qualifications: Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) certification, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification, Cerner or Epic electronic health record experience, community hospital experience, Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience, ability to float to UCSF facilities
Skills: Abdominal pain, acute psychosis, arterial line management, asthma, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, burns, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, chest tube insertion/management, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, CVA, drug overdose, emergency medications, epiglottitis, management of trauma and non-trauma emergency conditions, intubation, interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias, IV vasopressors, management of multisystem organ failure, management of violent and psychiatric patients, neuro-trauma, pediatric emergency, procedural sedation, respiratory infections, seizures, stroke, urinary tract infections, and more.
Unit Details: Staffed for adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics with an average daily census of 60 patients across 15 rooms and 17 beds. Support services include respiratory, radiology, social services, pharmacy, interpretation services, transportation, and unit secretary.
