Position Description: Emergency Room RN
Shift Time: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Shift Hours: 12 hours
Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
Location Requirements: Valid New York State Registered Nurse license required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; MEDITECH experience required; IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification during orientation; defibrillation certification within six months of employment; lethal dysrhythmia exam to be completed during probation
Required Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Medical experience required; Critical Care and charge experience preferred; Must have the ability to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations; possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principles and provide quality patient care; assess patients' clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs
Additional Information: Must recognize safety issues to self and others and be able to assess and implement use of lifts to move patients in a safe manner; able to function well in stressful situations with strong problem-solving skills; leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate; may be required to assume duties as a charge nurse; must successfully complete lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation
