Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience, a rotating 36/48 schedule, and an active KY or compact RN license.
Details
- General Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric population
- Night shift schedule on a rotating 36/48 basis: one week 3x12 (7p–7:30a), the following week 4x12 (7p–7:30a), totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within scope of practice
- Candidate must have 3–6 months of Level IV Trauma or above experience
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration — no exceptions
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, TNCC, PALS, and CPI or AVADE
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, triage, procedural sedation, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patient care, intubation, IV therapy, and phlebotomy
- Experience managing psychiatric patients including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, psychiatric holds, and behavioral health conditions preferred
- Driver's license required — address must match permanent address
- Two professional references required: one charge nurse or higher, one supervisor; both completed within the last year
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Up to 7 days of RTO will be considered; RTO must be declared upfront and no changes will be accepted after submission
- Must be willing to work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
- After working one cumulative year within the system, travelers must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
- Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; paired travelers will not be placed on the same shift or unit
