Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position in a Level 1 Trauma center located in a busy healthcare facility. The role involves providing high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, including critically ill and trauma patients, with responsibilities such as managing various drips, interpreting monitors, and working alongside a multidisciplinary team. Shifts are 12 hours long, with a scheduling structure that includes every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7a, 8a, 9a, 10a, 11a, 12p, 1p, 3p, 7p) with minimum 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated; certifications including BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC or TNS; minimum 2 years of nursing experience; at least one prior travel assignment; and general nursing skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: SANE RN experience; experience working at a teaching hospital with residents; proficient in titrating vasopressor and cardiac drips; capable of interpreting life-threatening rhythms on Phillips monitors.
• Additional Information: The ER handles a wide variety of patient needs, from newborns to the elderly, including critically ill and trauma patients. The unit operates with various staffing roles, including charge nurses, house supervisors, ED techs, and respiratory therapists. No specific scrub color is mandated; tasteful solid-colored scrubs are preferred. Float to other units is rare and typically as a help-all.
