Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a GI/Endoscopy Lab position requiring a CO or compact RN license and 1+ years of GI/Endo specialty experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based Endoscopy Lab setting
  • Cares for patients undergoing endoscopic and/or invasive procedures with or without sedation
  • Schedule consists of 4x10-hour day shifts or 4x9-hour shifts on a variable basis
  • 36 hours per week across 4 days
  • Weekend shifts required
  • On-call required for both weekdays and weekends, with potential for extra time
  • Floating to other Peri-Operative departments frequently, and occasionally to other nursing units within scope of competency
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Single State or CO/Compact) required, with compact licenses to be transferred to state of practice within 60 days of start
  • BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required, valid through start of assignment
  • Minimum 1 year of GI/Endoscopy specialty experience required
  • ASN or Nursing Diploma required
  • Must be experienced performing the technical portion of GI equipment
  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills required
  • Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

  • Responsible for primary nursing care and safety of patients undergoing endoscopic and invasive procedures
  • Collaborates with pre-operative RN to assess patient needs and develop individualized plans of care
  • Applies aseptic technique principles and monitors surgical team compliance, initiating corrective action as needed
  • Serves as a resource to students and new caregivers and participates in quality improvement initiatives
  • Documents equipment use and supply consumption to support inventory and charge accuracy
  • May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
  • Returning employees must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
