Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Endoscopy position requiring 2+ years of GI/Endo experience and a SC or Compact RN license.

Details

  • 3als in an acute care hospital setting
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • 5x8 hour day shifts, 6:00am-2:30pm
  • Weekend rotation required approximately every third weekend
  • On-call responsibilities approximately every third weekend (Friday 3pm-Monday 6am) and some weekday evenings after 3pm, shared among three Endo RNs
  • No floating required
  • Utilizes Epic charting system
  • Performs procedures including Bronchoscopy, Colonoscopy, EGD, EBUS, EUS, ERCP, and esophageal varices/banding
  • Administers and monitors conscious sedation and manages post-procedure recovery
  • Works with equipment such as balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, ERBE units, lithotripters, and polyp snares

Requirements

  • Active SC RN license or Compact license required prior to start
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy RN experience required
  • Previous travel RN experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skilled in administering conscious sedation, airway management, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
  • Experience starting and maintaining IVs and administering medications including opioid analgesics, reversal agents, and Versed
  • Must be able to stay within 30 minutes of the facility to respond to call as needed
  • Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsible for pre- and post-procedure patient care including EKG/ECG monitoring and sedation recovery
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • No cost for parking at the facility
  • First-time travelers not accepted for this position
  • Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius to be considered for the standard travel rate; local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate on a case-by-case basis
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Block scheduling requests may be considered but are not guaranteed
  • During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
