Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU/Endoscopy position requiring NY licensure and specialized GI/pulmonary procedural skills.

Details

• Endoscopy/PACU setting supporting procedural-based patient care
• Patient population includes pancreatic, lung, colon, and gastric cancer, polyps, Barrett's esophagus, and CBD stones/strictures/CA cases
• Special procedures include EUS, ERCP, Navigational Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Manometry, and Fibroscan
• Uses specialized equipment including ERBE, Olympus scopes/processors, Super-D, Bravo, VCE, and Manometry
• Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• Day off varies weekly based on department needs, with no guaranteed Monday or Friday off
• On-call required for weeknights, weekends, and holidays approximately 4-6 shifts per month
• Floating required to PreAnesthesia/PACU as needed

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certification required; CGRN preferred
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills required include administering and monitoring conscious sedation, airway management, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and specimen handling
• Experience with equipment such as balloon dilators, bronchoscopy carts, electrosurgical units, and polyp snares preferred
• Experience with procedures including bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, EGD, EBUS, EUS, and ERCP preferred
• Medication administration experience including opioid analgesics, reversal agents, and Versed

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include pre/post-procedure care, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Recovers patients from conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care
• Navy/white scrubs required
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility for consideration

• Returning staff must have at least a 6-month system-wide break in employment
