Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced GI/Endoscopy RN for an 8-week Rochester assignment requiring an active NY RN license and 1 year of endoscopy experience.

Details

• Endoscopy unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (8:00-18:30) with varying days off based on department needs
• On-call required approximately 4-6 shifts per month covering weeknights, weekends, and holidays
• Float required to PreAn/PACU as needed
• Patient population includes procedural cases for pancreatic, lung, colon, and gastric cancer, polyps, Barrett's esophagus, and CBD stones/strictures/cancer
• Performs specialized procedures including EUS, ERCP, Navigational Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Manometry, and Fibroscan
• Uses specialized equipment including ERBE, Olympus scopes/processors, Super-D, Bravo, VCE, and Manometry
• EPIC charting experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CGRN certification preferred
• 1 year of GI/Endoscopy experience required
• Competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Experience administering and monitoring conscious sedation
• Skilled in airway management and post-procedure recovery of conscious/monitored anesthesia care sedation
• Experience with EGD, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, EBUS, EUS, and ERCP procedures
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs and obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provides pre-procedure, procedural, and post-procedure care for GI/Endoscopy patients
• Administers medications including opioid analgesics, reversal agents, and Versed
• Handles specimen collection and labeling
• Navy/white scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility for consideration
• Returning staff must have at least 6 months since previous assignment, system-wide
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
