Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Endoscopy position requiring 1:1 patient ratios, conscious sedation skills, and an active NY RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Endoscopy unit of a hospital setting, including inpatient, outpatient endoscopy center, and portable/bedside travel cases
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Required to work 1 on-call shift per month and 1 weekend on-call per month
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license (pending license accepted)
  • Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in administering and monitoring conscious sedation, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, airway management, and post-procedure recovery care
  • Experience with equipment including balloon dilators, dilators, disposable grounding pads, electrosurgical units, ERBE portable coagulation instrument, forceps, foreign body equipment, and polyp snares
  • Experience performing procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, esophageal varices and banding, and sclerotherapy
  • Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, starting and maintaining IVs, and administering medications including opioid analgesics, reversal agents, and Versed
  • Provation experience preferred
  • Experience with EUS and ERCP preferred
  • Scrub role experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include circulating and scrub duties for endoscopic procedures
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
  • Former Guthrie Healthcare System employees must be separated for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler
  • RTO requests of 5 days or less are preferred
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Approximately 4 hours of non-billable orientation modules must be completed prior to start
