Job Summary:
Gastroenterology Laboratory professional is sought for an acute care setting in Long Beach, California. This role involves working in a dedicated Endoscopy/Gastrointestinal (GI) lab with procedural skills including ERCP and PEGs. The position offers a day shift with varied start times and call responsibilities, supporting a high-volume scope and diagnostic environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour days with start times between 07:00 and 10:00, five days per week, with weekend call responsibilities including weeknights from 15:30 to 07:00 and 24-hour call on weekends.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, BLS Certification, minimum of 2 years of experience in a gastroenterology laboratory or related setting, procedural sedation competency.
• Preferred Qualifications: GI certification is preferred.
• Float: No float rotation required.
• Additional Information:
  • Unit includes 3 procedure bays performing 15-30 procedures daily, such as ERCP, EGD, PEGs, and scope procedures.
  • May require going to the operating room for GI procedures, with some bronchs supported by respiratory therapy.
  • Charting will be done via Cerner system.
  • Orientation of approximately one week or until comfortable on the floor.
  • Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
  • Shift start times can vary to accommodate case schedules.
  • The role operates within an acute care division, with a charge nurse or supervisor available.
