Job Title: Electrophysiology Tech Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Electrophysiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (07:00 - 17:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, RCIS, RCES Must-Have: EKG exam required by all RNs, regardless of specialty. Experience in arrhythmia induction, cardioversion, insertion/programming of AICDs, and pacemaker insertion is required. Experience in cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, and conduction studies is preferred. Description: The Electrophysiology Tech plays a crucial role in delivering patient care within the Electrophysiology Lab and related areas. This position involves supporting high-quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care through comprehensive assessment and intervention. The role requires collaboration with the healthcare team to provide enhanced patient care during procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining strict asepsis, responding promptly in emergencies, and ensuring optimal procedural outcomes. The Electrophysiology Tech prepares specialty equipment for accurate diagnostic procedures. Completing control room duties with a working knowledge of monitoring systems is essential for this role. Support functions include digital archiving of studies and resource management for efficient workflows. The Electrophysiology Tech provides care in various areas, assisting in invasive lab functions as needed. Cultural competence and effective communication practices are critical for fostering inclusive patient-centered care. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
