Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Charge RN for an Emergency Department position requiring critical access hospital experience and weekend night shifts.

Details

• Modern Emergency Department equipped with state-of-the-art technology and access to TeleEmergency, Telepsych, and Teleneonatal services via DHMC
• Works alongside board-certified ED providers, ED technicians, and Certified Emergency RNs
• Access to DHART and LifeFlight of Maine for critical patient transfers
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM, Friday/Saturday/Sunday, 36 hours per week
• Every weekend work required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to Med/Surg and Stepdown units, approximately 60% ED and 40% critical access charge duties
• Must be willing to accept Stepdown patients and assist with Med/Surg patients
• Compact RN license accepted

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (all AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of current Emergency Room experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience required
• Critical Access Hospital experience highly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Emergency Room skills checklist required for consideration
• One supervisory signed reference from the past year of employment required
• License verification required

Additional Information

• Serve as Charge RN providing backup support to both Emergency Department and Med/Surg units
• Provide stabilization, treatment, and discharge care, transferring emergent cases as needed to specialized facilities
• Coordinate with local ambulance services and helicopter trauma transport teams for critical patient transfers
• Local candidates not accepted; permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility
• Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested
• Housing may be limited in the area
