Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for an Oncology Pod Emergency Department position requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Onc Pod Emergency Department at a cancer hospital
• ER Holding unit with floating required
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management including 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition and interpretation
• Care for general adult/pediatric ED population including sickle cell crisis and stroke/STEMI patients
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Skilled in central line care, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
• Experience with emergency medications including IV vasopressors
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide emergency department care within an oncology-focused ED pod
• Complete required Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• RTO must be submitted with application and is limited to 7 consecutive days or less for a 14-week contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this health system
