Travel Nursing Job Details
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel Registered Nurse contract
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- End Date: February 15, 2027
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; approximately 36 hours per week
- Shift: Day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Typical Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Unit Focus: Progressive care, telemetry, stepdown, and complex medical care
- Coverage: Weekdays, some weekends, and rotating holidays
PCU Travel Registered Nurse Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience; first-time travelers are welcome
- Current Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a valid compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Recent Epic electronic health record experience
- Progressive care, PCU, stepdown, telemetry, intermediate care, or closely related experience
- Strong telemetry nursing skills, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs and managing central lines, PICC lines, ports, and surgical drains
- Experience with oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, wound care, and feeding tubes
- Ability to manage complex therapies such as heparin protocols and insulin drips
- Ability to float to other units within the organization as patient-care needs require
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Two professional references, including at least one supervisor, manager, director, or other formal leader
- Timely completion of Ohio fingerprinting and credentialing requirements
Progressive Care Unit RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care setting
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, monitor clinical status, and identify changes in patient condition
- Manage telemetry patients and recognize, interpret, and respond to dysrhythmias
- Administer medications and manage heparin, insulin, and other prescribed protocols
- Provide care for patients with renal, hepatology, cardiology, pulmonary, medical, and other complex diagnoses
- Manage IV access, central lines, PICC lines, ports, chest tubes, surgical drains, feeding tubes, and wound care needs
- Deliver oxygen therapy and support patients requiring nasal cannula, high-flow oxygen, or non-invasive ventilation
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation services, pharmacy, social services, and other members of the care team
- Educate patients and families while promoting continuity, safety, and quality of care
- Float to other appropriate units when needed while maintaining professional standards and patient-centered care
