Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Holding unit night shift assignment requiring NM or compact RN licensure and prior ER experience.

Details

• Work in the ER Holding unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours), 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hour scheduling options available
• Patient ratio of 1:4, with float capacity up to 1:6
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required to like units within scope, based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, CPI, and NIHSS (ACLS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line care, respiratory care, oxygen administration, isolation precautions/PPE, wound care, heparin and insulin administration
• Preferred skills include chest tube management, tracheostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, CVA and substance withdrawal care, feeding tube management, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response/code team participation
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Deliver emergency nursing care within the ER Holding unit, supporting cardiac monitoring and emergency response as needed
• Brief unit orientation provided prior to floating assignments
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
