Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an ER Holding/Surge position requiring an active MA RN license and 2 years of telemetry experience.

Details

• Stationed in the ED caring for overflow/surge patients in an ER Surge/Overflow role
• 13-week assignment at 48 hours per week
• Evening shift (4x12 hours), 3:00 PM start with flexibility of 4 hours earlier or later based on department need
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Floats to different areas within the ED to manage overflow/surge patients
• Utilizes Epic EMR for charting
• Union facility requiring availability to work all 7 days with no special scheduling accommodations

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Must pass a pass/fail medication exam and a pass/fail telemetry exam at orientation, each with only 1 attempt allowed
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac) preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and PCA management preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred

• Provide nursing care to ER overflow and surge patients
• Facility allows 1 of 3 major upcoming holidays to be submitted as RTO
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
