Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Observation unit position requiring trauma experience and an active Oklahoma or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the ER Observation unit of a hospital trauma setting
• Care for patients with a range of health conditions from simple to complex
• 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Schedule notes indicate trauma and travel required

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum of one year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and treatments
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• Returning workers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks unless otherwise agreed, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as the facility strictly enforces compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
