Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Emergency Department for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and OH/compact RN license.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patient population
• Level I Trauma Center, STEMI-certified, and Stroke-certified facility
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:3.5
• Uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication dispensing
• Float required
• Weekend rotation required every other or every third weekend
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• CPI certification preferred
• Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility experience preferred
• Comfortable with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and administering emergency medications and IV vasopressors
• Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care preferred
• Able to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG and manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Navy scrubs required
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon signing contract due to compliance deadlines
