Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring active FL or compact RN licensure and prior ED and neuro/stroke experience.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a 210-bed acute care hospital
  • Care for general adult/pediatric ED patients including level 1 resuscitation cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating required within scope of practice
  • Charting is done in Meditech

Requirements

  • Active FL or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2.5 years of Emergency Department experience
  • Minimum 1 year of neuro/stroke experience
  • Prior travel nursing experience required, including at least 2 previous travel assignments
  • Experience with level 1 resuscitation patients required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: TNCC, SANE
  • Preferred experience: Level I and Level II Trauma Center, community hospital, and charge nurse experience
  • Skills preferred: managing violent behavior, arterial line management, continuous IV paralytics, neuro-trauma, gunshot wounds, head injury, near drowning, and ortho trauma

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care across a range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric cases
  • Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified center with Level I and II trauma designations
  • Scrubs may be any color; no tee shirts, sweatshirts, or logos from other organizations permitted
  • Holiday coverage required, including at least 1 evening shift and 1-2 holiday shifts depending on the number of holidays within the assignment
  • RTO limited to no more than 10 days, requiring a 2-week extension to the assignment, with no RTO permitted during the first or last week
  • Candidates must reside more than 30 miles from the facility to be considered
  • Free parking available in any unrestricted space
