Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at an acute care hospital in Titusville, FL, requiring at least 2.5 years of ED experience and prior travel assignments.
Details
- Evening shift (3x12 hours), 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
- Works every other weekend
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
- Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience utilized in this setting
- STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility
- Floating required within scope of practice
- Charting is performed in Meditech (experience preferred)
- 210-bed acute care hospital
Requirements
- Active FL or compact RN license currently in hand
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Preferred certifications: TNCC and SANE
- Minimum 2.5 years of ED experience required
- Minimum 1 year of neuro/stroke experience required
- Minimum 2 prior travel assignments required
- Experience with Level 1 resuscitation patients required
- Meditech EMR experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or Level II experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skills required include: IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, blood product administration, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management, triage, and stroke (CVA) care
- Preferred skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, chest tube management, ABG interpretation, intubation, continuous IV sedation/paralytics, psychiatric patient management, and managing violent behavior
- Candidate must reside more than 30 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Provides emergency nursing care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population, including high-acuity and resuscitation cases
- Neuro/stroke patient management is a component of the role
- Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
- Free parking is available in any unrestricted space
- Any scrub color is acceptable; no tee shirts, sweatshirts, or clothing with logos from other organizations
- Holiday coverage is required: if 1–2 holidays fall within the assignment, traveler must work 1 holiday eve and 1 holiday; if 3 holidays fall within the assignment, traveler must work 1 holiday eve and 2 holidays
- RTO is limited to no more than 10 days per assignment and requires extending the assignment by 2 additional weeks; no RTO is permitted during the first or last week of the assignment
- Pre-start and annual online modules are required and are non-billable; ED modules can take up to 10–12 hours to complete
- No travel pairs or trios are accepted for this position
- Local candidates (within 30 miles of facility) are not eligible for this position
