Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department position requiring travel experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined Adult/Pediatric patients
  • Shift schedule is 3x12-hour Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Setting includes shock/trauma cases such as gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
  • Handles cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure care
  • Involves triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum of 3 years of RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with pediatric emergency presentations preferred, including asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and abdominal pain
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration preferred
  • Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and ABG interpretation preferred
  • Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
  • Ortho trauma experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted for this position
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted as locals
  • Former staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • All RTO must be listed at time of consideration
  • Onboarding requires completion of core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Orientation modules are completed onsite and average 4-6 hours for RNs
  • First-time travelers may be considered based on position details
