Description

American Traveler is seeking an ER RN with at least 1 year of experience for a 12-week assignment in a busy Emergency Department, requiring a TN or compact RN license and ACLS certification.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department-Trauma unit of a hospital setting
• Care for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
• Perform triage, rapid assessments, and continuous monitoring of vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and neurological status
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as ordered
• Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
• Operate emergency equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
• Shift schedule is 15:00-03:30
• 12-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required
• PALS certification (AHA) may be required
• TNCC certification may be preferred or required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Previous emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• US Social Security Number and US home address required

Additional Information

• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, and laboratory staff
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Follow infection-control and medication-safety practices
• Participate in emergency preparedness and quality-improvement initiatives
• COVID vaccination is not required
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from the facility
• Only one submission permitted system-wide per Ascension facility
