Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a 12-week hospital assignment requiring at least one year of emergency department experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department-Trauma unit
• Care for patients presenting with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
• Evening shift from 15:00-03:30
• 12-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA required)
• PALS certification may be required
• TNCC certification may be preferred or required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification may be required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Previous emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

Additional Information

• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritize care based on severity and urgency
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as ordered
• Initiate IV access and obtain blood specimens for lab testing
• Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
• Operate emergency equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, and lab staff
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Follow infection-control and medication-safety procedures per hospital policy
• Participate in emergency preparedness and quality-improvement initiatives
