Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a General Emergency Department position requiring prior travel experience and night shift availability.

Details

• General Emergency Department caring for a combined adult/pediatric patient population ranging from infants to geriatrics
• 46-bed unit with an average daily census of 135 and a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR charting/communication systems
• Required to work every other weekend unless otherwise specified
• Floating may be required to a sister campus
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (NIHSS preferred)
• Experience with respiratory care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care/management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV vasopressor administration
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage (preferred)
• Any charting system experience required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of patient acuities and age groups
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage expected: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment, both must be worked; if three fall within the assignment, two must be worked
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Prior permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be separated from the facility system for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were previously cancelled or not renewed must complete one assignment outside the facility system before reapplying
