Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a busy Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients from infants to geriatrics
• 46-bed unit with average daily census of 135 and 1:4 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating possible to sister campus
• No call requirements
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in respiratory care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care/management required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV vasopressor administration
• Any charting system experience accepted

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across the full patient age spectrum in a combined adult/pediatric ED
• Manage cardiac monitoring and respond to emergent dysrhythmias
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum 7 days RTO per contract, all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required: work 1 holiday if 1-2 occur during assignment, or 2 of 3 if three occur during assignment
• Observed holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or DNR'd by a Piedmont facility must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
