Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Travel Nursing Contract in Adrian, Michigan

Experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses can join a 13-week travel nursing contract in Adrian, Michigan, caring for patients across the lifespan in a collaborative rural hospital Emergency Department. This fast-paced ED RN opportunity is ideal for a nurse who enjoys treating a broad range of medical, surgical, behavioral health, obstetric, neurologic, cardiac, and traumatic conditions. Adrian offers small-town charm, a welcoming atmosphere, outdoor recreation, and convenient access to larger destinations such as Ann Arbor and Toledo.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660–$1,750
• Location: Adrian, Michigan
• Healthcare Setting: 27-bed Emergency Department within a rural hospital and Primary Stroke Center
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Contract End Date: January 25, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour night shifts, approximately 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Volume: Approximately 76 visits per day
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Float Expectation: Float within the service line and scope of practice as needed

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of acute care Emergency Department nursing experience
• Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department experience required
• Active Michigan Registered Nurse license in hand at the time of submission
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• Epic electronic health record charting experience required
• Experience managing an approximate patient ratio of 1:4
• Ability to care for patients with medical, surgical, behavioral health, obstetric, neurologic, cardiac, and traumatic emergencies
• Comfort working night shifts, weekends, and in a high-volume emergency setting
• Ability to float within the nurse's service line and scope of practice
• Applicants must reside more than 50 miles from the assignment location

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all ages and acuity levels
• Perform triage, focused assessments, ongoing reassessments, and timely escalation of care
• Recognize and respond to chest pain, respiratory distress, sepsis, stroke, cardiac arrest, trauma, fractures, abdominal pain, mental health emergencies, and OB/GYN emergencies
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases
• Administer blood products, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation according to policy
• Start and maintain IV access and provide central line care and management
• Care for patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, mechanical ventilation, isolation precautions, and neuro-trauma interventions
• Support care for stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, orthopedic trauma, penetrating injuries, and other critical conditions
• Collaborate with emergency providers, charge nurses, triage nurses, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
• Document accurately and efficiently in Epic while maintaining patient safety and continuity of care
