This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population in a 27-bed rural emergency department with an average daily census of approximately 76 patients. You will support patients ranging from neonates and children to older adults while working alongside board-certified emergency providers, dedicated triage and charge nurses, and comprehensive clinical support services.

Travel Nursing Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660–$1,750
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Department: 27-bed Emergency Department
- Average Daily Census: Approximately 76 patients
- Patient Population: Neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4–5; prior 1:4 ratio experience required
- Documentation System: Epic experience required
- Additional Scheduling Information: Floating within the service line and scope of practice may be required. Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not eligible.
Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Recent combined adult and pediatric emergency care experience
- Michigan Registered Nurse license in hand
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
- Epic electronic health record and emergency nursing documentation experience
- Experience managing patients with a wide range of emergency conditions, including cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, behavioral health, obstetric/gynecologic, sepsis, trauma, and orthopedic presentations
- Demonstrated competency with emergency procedures and equipment, including IV starts, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, ventilated patients, CPAP/BiPAP, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and ABG interpretation
- Strong triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, isolation precaution, and emergency stabilization skills
- Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
Emergency Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide timely, evidence-based nursing care to patients across the lifespan in a fast-paced Emergency Department
- Perform focused assessments, triage patients, identify changes in condition, and prioritize care according to acuity
- Care for patients experiencing chest pain, stroke, sepsis, respiratory distress, cardiac arrest, mental health crises, abdominal pain, fractures, trauma, and other emergent conditions
- Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, vasopressors, sedation, and other treatments in accordance with clinical protocols
- Support resuscitation, airway management, trauma response, neuro-trauma care, and procedural sedation
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and ABGs while recognizing and responding to clinical deterioration
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with emergency providers, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Float within the service line and scope of practice as needed to support safe patient care
- Promote a compassionate, calm, and patient-centered experience for individuals and families during emergency situations
