Job Details

• Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Location: Topeka, KS 66606
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours
• Hours Per Week: 36 hours, with the option to work 48 hours in select scheduling situations
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekend Coverage: 2 weekend shifts per contract
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660–$1,750
• Charting System: Epic experience required

Job Requirements

• Active Kansas RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC required
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong clinical judgment in a high-acuity emergency care setting
• Ability to manage a wide range of emergency diagnoses and patient needs
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
• Flexibility to adapt quickly in a fast-paced ED environment

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a high-volume Emergency Department
• Assess, monitor, and respond to patients with acute medical and behavioral health needs
• Support care for stroke, STEMI, CHF, DKA, trauma, respiratory distress, seizures, and overdose patients
• Perform and assist with emergency interventions including IV therapy, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, chest tube management, central line care, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, efficient patient care
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately in Epic
• Prioritize patient safety, infection control, and timely triage in a busy ED setting
• Maintain professionalism, focus, and compassion while supporting a team-based care environment
