Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: La Porte, IN

Position Description:

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced rural emergency department. This travel opportunity is available for a duration of 13 weeks, with immediate start dates available. This role is designed for nurses who thrive in dynamic environments and can adapt to varying patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in the emergency department.
• Effectively communicate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions to identify changes and respond appropriately.
• Participate in de-escalation training and manage stressful situations with professionalism.
• May float to other emergency department locations as needed.

Shift Details:

• Shift: Days from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to Starke Hospital ED may be required

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure in Indiana
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an emergency department setting
• De-escalation training preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred

Additional Information:

• Unit Capacity: 23 beds
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 4-5 patients per nurse
• Scrub Color: Navy blue
