Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift | 13-Week Contract in Dallas, TX

Travel Nursing Job Details

- Schedule: 3 night shifts per week; 12-hour shifts
- Shift Hours: Approximately 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; approximately four weekend shifts during the contract
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Department Volume: Approximately 100 daily encounters and 250 visits per day across a 70-bed emergency department
- Orientation: 24 hours

- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 2 years of recent emergency department nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
- Strong emergency nursing skills, including patient assessment, triage, prioritization, and emergency response
- Experience caring for adolescents, infants, adults, pediatric, and geriatric patients
- Community hospital and trauma experience preferred
- Current influenza vaccination required; applicable medical or religious exemptions may be considered
Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver timely, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions.
- Perform rapid nursing assessments, triage patients, identify changes in condition, and prioritize care appropriately.
- Care for patients with diagnoses including DKA, chest pain, hyperglycemia, acute renal failure, abdominal pain, dehydration, and acute respiratory failure.
- Manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator support, IV vasopressors, central line care, isolation precautions, and dysrhythmia management.
- Assist with moderate sedation and use emergency department equipment such as rapid infusion and therapeutic temperature-management devices.
- Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient response and escalating concerns promptly.
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams to coordinate patient care.
- Provide patient and family education, emotional support, and clear discharge or transfer instructions.
