Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and GA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, TNCC
• Skills in respiratory care and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with medication administration including continuous IV sedation
• Preferred experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Triage experience required
• Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration
• Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this unit
• Provide emergency department nursing care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of ventilated or sedated patients
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of consideration
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested
• If three major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may delay start by two weeks due to biweekly orientation scheduling
• Shift and schedule are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
• Former Piedmont permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or deemed unable to return to a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
