Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Facility is a Level I/II Trauma Center, STEMI Certified, and Stroke Certified
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5 depending on staffing and volume
  • 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
  • Weekend requirement of 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days per 6 weeks
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • May float to any campus within the health system as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
  • CPI, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Previous Charge RN experience preferred
  • Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG competency exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
  • Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care required
  • Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
  • Experience with isolation precautions and PPE required

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care for a broad range of cases including trauma, cardiac emergencies, stroke, and pediatric emergencies
  • Manage patients with conditions such as CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and orthopedic trauma
  • Perform triage and respond to shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
  • Skilled in arterial line management, blood product administration, and procedural sedation monitoring preferred
  • Experience with ICP monitoring and neuro-trauma care preferred
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
  • RTO must be submitted at the time of application; no changes accepted after submission
  • Third-party education verification required, with degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list not accepted
  • Candidates must have no open background check cases
  • Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
