Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NC or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ED experience.

Details

  • Work in a hospital Emergency Department serving a combined adult/pediatric patient population
  • General ED setting with capability for Level I and Level II Trauma cases
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5 depending on staffing and patient volume
  • Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Required to work 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days per 6-week period
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • May be floated to any campus within the health system as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC state or compact) required in hand at time of submission
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Preferred certifications: CPI, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required in the Emergency Department
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Preferred experience: Charge RN and Level II Trauma Center
  • Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
  • Current driver's license required for address verification

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care across a range of conditions including cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and trauma cases
  • Skills utilized may include IV therapy, central line care, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Care for shock/trauma patients including gunshot wounds and head injuries
  • Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified
  • First time travelers are welcome to apply
  • No previous travel experience required
  • RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no requests accepted after submission
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local rates apply
  • Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Compliance deadline is 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date
