Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring prior travel experience, Cerner proficiency, and an active MD or compact RN license.

Details

  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
  • Combined adult and pediatric general emergency department setting
  • 13-week contract
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Charting system: Cerner (required)

Requirements

  • Active MD or compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Preferred certifications: ENCP and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required
  • General ED experience with both adult and pediatric patients required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers with strong Cerner experience and a strong profile may be considered
  • Required skills: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, starting and maintaining IVs, emergency medications, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
  • Preferred skills: central line care/management, care of ventilated patients, triage, and respiratory care
  • Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms
  • Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
  • Driver's license required for local status determination

Additional Information

  • Charge nurse experience is preferred
  • Nurses with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for a minimum of one year before being considered as a traveler
  • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract, and all RTO must be declared upfront
  • Local candidates residing within 60 miles are accepted; candidate's address must match their driver's license for local status determination
  • Manager interviews are not guaranteed; candidates should be comfortable proceeding without an interview
