Required qualifications include a current RN license in Alabama, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and crisis prevention training are often preferred. At least 1-2 years of recent emergency department experience is recommended. Recommended skills include strong clinical judgment, rapid assessment, and the ability to remain calm and effective in critical situations.
