Emergency Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Georgia
• At least 1 year of recent emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
• Current clinical knowledge of emergency nursing practices and patient safety standards
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and maintain reliable attendance
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced emergency department
• Successful completion of required facility onboarding and credential verification

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions
• Perform focused nursing assessments, triage support, reassessments, and ongoing patient monitoring
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly escalate concerns
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and nursing standards
• Initiate and maintain IV access, collect specimens, and assist with diagnostic procedures
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and other members of the emergency care team
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and disposition details
• Support a safe, organized, and compassionate emergency department environment
