Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,760–$1,850
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
• Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required as needed
• Charting: Epic
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients

Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand
• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department or Emergency Room nursing experience
• Required prior experience in an urban Level I Trauma Emergency Department
• Strong emergency nursing assessment, triage, and critical-thinking skills
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
• TNCC and CPI certifications strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Epic or comparable electronic health record systems preferred
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care in a high-volume, high-acuity environment
• Willingness to work every other weekend and float when needed

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessments, triage, reassessments, and ongoing monitoring for patients with urgent and emergent conditions
• Provide emergency nursing care for medical, surgical, pediatric, psychiatric, neurological, orthopedic, and trauma patients
• Manage patients requiring ventilatory support, BiPAP/CPAP, IV vasopressors, continuous sedation, and emergency medications
• Care for patients experiencing stroke, seizures, respiratory distress, drug overdose, burns, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other life-threatening conditions
• Initiate and maintain IV access, administer blood products and medications, and monitor treatment responses
• Recognize and report changes in patient condition and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Perform or assist with procedures including EKG acquisition, procedural sedation monitoring, chest tube management, splint application, and emergency interventions within scope of practice
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic while following infection prevention, safety, and trauma-care standards
• Support patients and families through crisis situations with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication
