Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,760–$1,850
• Location: Harvey, Illinois
• Specialty: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Charting: Epic electronic health record (EHR)
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Department Volume: Approximately 120 visits per day across 34 rooms
• Floating: Required as needed

Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience; 2 years preferred
• Recent experience in an urban Level I Trauma Emergency Department is required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
• TNCC and CPI certifications preferred
• Experience caring for high-acuity emergency patients across the lifespan
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and crisis-management skills
• Comfort with Epic or comparable electronic health record systems

Travel ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessment, triage, stabilization, and ongoing evaluation of emergency patients
• Provide evidence-based nursing care for medical, surgical, pediatric, psychiatric, neurologic, and trauma presentations
• Manage patients with conditions including respiratory distress, stroke, overdose, burns, seizures, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, sickle cell crisis, and behavioral health emergencies
• Administer emergency medications, blood products, IV therapies, sedation, and continuous infusions according to established protocols
• Care for ventilated patients and manage central lines, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP/CPAP, and other critical-care equipment
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including dysrhythmias and other life-threatening emergencies
• Assist with procedures such as intubation, EKG acquisition, splint application, and IV access
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
• Support a safe, respectful environment when caring for patients experiencing behavioral health crises or violent behavior
