Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I or II trauma center experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I and Level II Trauma Center
• 13-week contract assignment
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekends required with scheduled days varying based on staffing needs
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Every other holiday required
• Time off cannot be approved around Labor Day
• Floating required within scope of practice as needed
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC may be pending but must be obtained before start)
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• At least 1 year of Level I trauma center experience or 2 years of Level II trauma center experience required
• Some pediatric experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN preferred
• Nursys license verification required
• References required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency department nursing care including patient triage
• Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract, all of which must be disclosed prior to submission
• Any vacation time planned between sign date and start date must be disclosed to allow for appropriate start date planning
• Specialty-specific orientation modules completed during onboarding, recorded in Workday
• Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers must have at least 1 year of separation and leadership approval before returning
• External travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
• Travelers who reach 365 total assignment days are not eligible to return, regardless of time away
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
